What is Golden Door?
Immigration status shouldn’t determine opportunity. Tenacity and hard work should. With the Golden Door Scholarship, undocumented students invest in their education and define their futures.
Our Charge
Golden Door Scholars exists to permanently disrupt intergenerational poverty and increase diversity in the workforce by setting undocumented students up for high-earning, sustainable careers in STEM, Nursing, and Business. We believe everyone deserves the opportunity for higher education and economic mobility.
Building Brighter Futures Without Barriers
DACA, TPS, and undocumented students are ineligible for federal financial aid and in-state tuition in most states. Many scholarships also require citizenship. This prevents tens of thousands of qualified students from accessing higher education. Golden Door Scholars eliminates this barrier by providing large college scholarships for undocumented students. We invest in undergraduate education and career access for high-performing students.
More than a Scholarship
While Golden Door Scholars provides large college scholarships for undocumented students, the real value is our career support programs, mentorship, programming, and community building. As a Golden Door Scholar, each student has access to mentorship year-round. Mentors guide students in their career paths and create helpful connections with others in their field. Furthermore, community building is crucial to the success of Golden Door Scholars, and we firmly believe our supportive community makes us who we are.
